Improve Your Cleaning Business By Listening
We speak to really busy cleaning business owners every day, that really need to get back time in their busy weeks to learn how to run their businesses better. Tony Malyk talks about it in his Linkedin Post namely, Does Your Business Feel Like a Mouse Wheel? However, although this post is a great summary, there is more to the Emyth than this and more you can do to improve your cleaning business by listening,
How though do you get the time to read great books like the Emyth?
I ask that because I can hear the masses replying, I don’t have time to sit down and read 268 pages. I know I should, but this kind of learning always gets put on the shelf for later.
At freshOps we consume 100’s of business books a year. Notice the emphasize I had on consumed. I can’t remember the last time I picked up a book and read it, so how do we consume all these titles. We listen to Audiobooks. However, it’s not just Audiobooks we consume by listening. We listen to any array of business podcasts such as Grow My Cleaning Company, The Tim Ferris Show, and really simple to consume Podcast like The $100 MBA.
What’s our tool of choice? STITCHER
What I particularly like about consuming books and podcast like this, is that I’m perfectly fine with the fact I may not benefit from all the knowledge these books and provide, but I always come away with something. For busy people, listening to an audiobook with tools like Audible on a 20min car trip to do a quote or perform a Site Inspection is a great use of our time.
In fact, even while writing this post, I have a TED Radio Hour Podcast titled “Failure is an Option”. TED Stands for Technology, Entertainment and design. So I consider this podcast easy listening, while I’m working.
How do you get started with Audiobooks and Podcasts?
This is as simple as visiting Audible.com and Signing Up then following their directions to download the Audible App and start consuming great books like the Emyth, Rich Dad Poor Dad and the 4hr Work Week. Podcasts are just as easy to start consuming. Simply download the Stitcher Mobile Apps from your App Store and start searching for the latest and greatest business and self-help podcast.
I’ve listed a few of my favourite Audiobooks and Podcasts that I’ve been enjoying over the last 3 months, so check them out, and see if you actually learning something you can use in your business in your downtime.
